In the framework of the 9-th International annual Balloon Meet, 2004 in Velikie Luki the following sporting events were held:
The 10-th Russian National Hot Air Balloon Championship.
The 8-th Cup of Prominent Russian Aeronauts.
32 balloon teams from different countries participated at the events.
None of cities or regions has contributed more in the development of Ballooning in Russia than Velikie Luki. First of all beautiful and ecologically clean environment of our region creates perfect flying conditions.
